Rozie and Edgardo, a Filipino couple in Christchurch, turned a lockdown setback into a thriving food business—Edgardo’s Grill—offering affordable, authentic Filipino cuisine in Ōtautahi and a sense of home for 17,000 Filipinos their community.

In 2024 with support from the Generator Growth Fund and Visa, they’ve upgraded equipment, improved sustainability,  including recycling 20 litres of used cooking oil monthly and are now exploring a food truck to expand their reach.
