Beth Rika is the founder of TKC Sensory & Education and the creative heart behind Kākahu Taonga, a small whānau-based business in Aotearoa, New Zealand. As a mother of three adult children and proud Nanny to nine mokopuna, Beth brings warmth, care, and over 30 years of experience in Early Childhood and Primary School teaching into everything she creates. Beth is also a Senior Coach/Tuakana for The Generator, Ka Puta Ka Ora — Emerge Aotearoa, where she supports and encourages others through guidance, lived experience, and meaningful community connection. Through the support and opportunities provided by The Generator programme, Beth was able to begin her own small business journey with TKC Sensory & Education. With a deep love for culture, creativity, and storytelling, Beth handcrafts meaningful Pēpi Kākahu Taonga that honour life’s special moments. Each piece reflects whakapapa, identity, aroha, and belonging, transforming every creation into a treasured keepsake for whānau. Outside of her creative work, Beth enjoys crafting, fishing, and giving back to her community through voluntarily teaching the Bible and supporting others with kindness, encouragement, and compassion.
