Beth's experience and expertise that has brought her to the Generator:
I am a qualified teacher and have been in a teaching role for over 30 years and can honestly say I still enjoy it. My latest achievement is becoming a Tutor for New Zealand/Aotearoa Makaton. I believe this language program can help people with communication difficulties better connect with the people in their daily lives by using hand signs, symbols and verbal. My grand-daughter with down syndrome is my motivation to designing and creating sensory and educational resources for children’s learning and play.
Combining all these skills and desires together the Generator has been an enormous help, providing ongoing support, training on developing a small business and ecommerce and funds to make it happen.
It feels good to be able to have learning resources and services available for people in the community to tap into.
Hobbie/ fun facts about Beth:
My most treasured taonga is being a mum to three amazing adult-children who like me have goals and aspirations. And of course, being a Nanny to ten beautiful grandchildren. I eat most seafood, Whittaker chocolate, fish and chips and slurp a lime milkshake. I am learning to play tunes on the ukulele. I can’t help myself but I do like to have coffee and cake with family and friends. And I volunteer my time, energy and resources to teach people what the Bible says.
